Where is the center?

Once again one of my colleagues makes a false equivalence. Ambo said in this FB post discussing the progressive and so-called centrist wings of the Dem Party: "Multiple perspectives may also be part of a normal tendency for gravitation towards the center."

Depends on what you call the center. If that means compromising with representatives that have been bought by oligarchy and authoritarianism then hardly. If the center means where the majority of people respond to the issues, then repeated polling shows that they strongly favor progressive policies like single-payer healthcare, environmental protection etc.

The progressives are the ones that take account of multiple perspectives and try to find a balance, like Bernie and AOC. They are not out to destroy corporations or the rich but to find the right balance where they still make profit but in the context of supporting society as a whole. The so-called centrists are much more about tilting the scales toward corporations and the rich at everyone else's expense. It that's the center then it's hardly multi-perspectival.
