Dems likely to drop paid sick leave from Covid relief

This is exactly what I've been talking about. Dems are accepting the Senate Byrd rule as an excuse to leave out of the Covid relief Bill necessary policies like paid family leave during a pandemic. This is atrocious  when now they have the power to override that rule, especially in a Reconciliation Bill. Flood Congress with calls and emails that they must take advantage of existing Reconciliation procedures to override Fascicon objections to what can be added to such Bills. Here's the lie they're using as an excuse:

"Democratic aides said they didn’t see a way to include a requirement that companies provide paid leave under the constraints of budget reconciliation, a legislative process Democrats are pursuing to pass legislation in the Senate with only a simple majority. 'We knew a mandate would never survive [under Senate rules].'"

Here is exactly how they get around that now that they control the Senate and they have to know this. So why the lies and excuses?
