Thom's caller makes the point that we need to use simple language to communicate effectively with the masses. Liberals tend to be smart and use complex language thinking that will be sufficient. But to the contrary most Americans instead find such elitism repulsive. And we need to reach these voters if we want to win elections.
So the caller said we should call the Republican Party what they really are: The Confederate Party. And it has the benefit of being true; it is the Party of slavery, only now it's wage slavery. Hence the strategy I've long ago adopted in my blog: Name-calling like Repugnacons, Twitiots etc. They too are also the sort of effective language needed to move most people, and they too are based in truth.
True, some elite liberals addicted to complexity are repulsed thinking that it's simple-minded and crude. But they also erroneously think if only they can develop everyone to higher cognitive levels that will solve the problem. But we have to elect the right representatives in government to ever have the necessary policies for a higher education to accomplish that. For example, free colleges and universities. And it takes enough voters to elect the right politicians to enact such policies. Given most voters are not well-educated and cognitively complex then just giving them elite language and complex solutions doesn't even register. They are just reinforcing their own elite status in a mutually masturbatory circle jerk.
Bottom line: Calling them the Confederate Party is on the right track. I still prefer the Repugnacons, MAGATs and Twitiots. And of late I'm calling them the Refascicons to emphasize that they've gone full fascism. Again, based in truth, yet simple and effective enough to reach the masses outside of our elite yet effete circles. (Yes, that last word is intended only for us eggheads.)
