Cenk: The truth about progressives in Congress

It is frustrating. Repugnacons have no problem fighting like this but Democrats, even progressives as Cenk points out, don't know how to use power. And if they cave on this when they don't have to it's true, they will lose their majority in both houses of Congress. Progressives have to be willing to go to the mat by themselves using their own demand for the wage hike or they will not vote for this must pass Bill. If a lone Senator like Manchin can exert his negotiating power to hold it up image what a half dozen or more progressives can do if they say no to the Bill unless it's in there. But they first have to walk their talk and use their power to back it up and force the issue.
Sirota said something similar today at the Daily Poster. Biden and his apologists are making excuses that the President doesn't have any power to influence Senators like Manchin. But that is an excuse because a President can apply enormous pressure on the likes of Manchin by doing exactly what Cenk advises, like campaigning for the wage hike in W. Virginia where it's popular and making Manchin's constituents aware he is responsible for their hardship. But instead of that he makes lame excuses and the only reasonable conclusion is that he really doesn't want the increase because he's a paid tool of his big business donors.
