Continuing the last post, I received some pushback that you can't compare a small country like Norway with a big one like the US. The Democracy Index (which itself is correlated with the World Happiness Report), easily counters that. It looks not just at individual countries but regions. E.g., North American scores high but only because Canada is 5 while the US is 18. Western Europe is 2nd highest and part of that is the European Union, which has quite a high total population (447 million).* It really has a lot more to do with a region's organizing socio-economic system, the point of the meme: Social democracy v. corporate capitalism.

My idiosyncratic and confluent bricolage of progressive politics, linguistic framing, the collaborative commons, next generation cognitive neuroscience, American pragmatism, de/reconstruction, dynamic systems, embodied realism, psychodynamics, aesthetics.
