Totalitarianism is on the march with a well-funded propaganda campaign propping it up. Twit and the Repugnacon Party are the spearhead of that campaign. Hence the urgent need of defending democracy against it if we ever hope to maintain it. The For the People Act is critical in that struggle, why the authoritarians are so against it and we the people must have it.
"The Big Lie and monotonously repeated nonsense have more emotional appeal than logic and reason" (7:02). "Steps can be taken to effect a cure. The task, however, necessitates many different approaches from many different people" (12:23). One way is "information that counters the propaganda should be spread far and wide, and as wide as possible. The truth is more powerful than the fiction" (13:19). And one of my favorites: "Another tactic is to use humor and ridicule to delegitimize the ruling elite" (13:41).
Hence it is each of our jobs to take this task upon ourselves via social media, to inform each other of the lies and the truth. And to share and spread it far and wide. Combined we are in the millions and must use our power and the social platforms in this fight for democracy.
