His diagnosis is in this interview. It's in line with Thomas Frank's assessment. Beginning in the 70s the Dem Party abandoned the working class and transitioned to affluent professionals and the intellectual class. Now there is a split in the Party with the neoliberals holding sway over the progressives and sabotaging their candidates like Bernie and Turner.
He credits the rise of progressives in Congress to the people rebelling against both Parties given their subservience to neoliberalism. To keep a Dem majority in the next election they must enact progressive policy. This is necessary to bring back the working class voters they lost previously. With them they can win; without them they will lose.
Therefore it is necessary for we the people to apply as much pressure as we can with our voice, our letters, our emails, our memes etc. We must demand that the Dem Party serves us now and threaten them that if they do not we will abandon them. We have veto power over them if they want to retain their own power. And if anything is certain it's that power is foremost on their agenda. We must force the awareness on them that they cannot do it without us. And we the people must realize our power and exercise or lose it.
