Fauci on Meet the Press

He explains that most all of the current deaths are in the unvaccinated demographic. So vaccinations are critical to getting this pandemic under control. This is especially so with the new Delta variant. 

So Todd asks him about WHO advising that even the vaccinated wear masks while the CDC does not. He assures us that the vaccinated have very low risk. However, he said that "if you put yourself in an environment of high level of viral dynamics and a low level of vaccine, you might want to go the extra step [...] to be cautious enough to get the added level of protection [of a mask]" (7:22).

Given that several Abq. dance groups are now dancing freely without masks and not requiring proof of vaccination, and given the current NM vax rate of about 62%, and also given that there are known anti-vaxxers in the dance community dancing without masks, I consider that to be "an environment of high level of viral dynamics." These irresponsible dance groups are likely spreading the virus among the unvaccinated like wildfire. And given the close contact of partner dancing they could also be endangering some of the vaccinated, as there have been breakthrough infections. 

Therefore the entire dance pool in Abq. is already contaminated and so high risk that for me I'm not taking the chance of not only getting it but spreading it to others. Much as I love dance I love my and others' health and life even more.
