Israel study on reduced Pfizer effectiveness against Delta

While most other studies paint a rosy picture of the Pfizer vaccine's effectiveness, Israel's Ministry of Health finds " the efficacy of the vaccine in preventing infection and symptomatic illness down to 64%. The implication is that the risk of fully vaccinated people becoming sick has increased significantly." 

So it's hard to know whether Israel is an outlier or if the other studies are intentionally leaving out data to make it seem we're doing better to avoid another panic. I know in the US our CDC refuses to implement the recommendations of the WHO, who are still advising caution among the vaccinated given what Delta is doing to the rest of the world. I don't think Delta is going to take a break in the US from its insidious spread worldwide. Recall Israel had an 80% vaccination rate when Delta hit. But our Pollyanna belief in our exceptionalism, that everything is OK, that the pandemic is over and we can go back to normal, is only letting Delta in the back door big time and we're due for a rude and deadly awakening.
