Robert Reich said:
"Why isn’t he making the case to the American people? Why isn’t he
strong-arming Manchin? Why isn’t he on the Hill buttonholing senators?
The most important voting rights bill in 56 years. His silence is
breathtaking. I like Biden but he’s been AWOL on
voting rights and ending the filibuster, which are critical to
everything else America must achieve."
Granted he said this on June 22 when the Repugs filibustered even discussing the For the People Act. But has Biden said much if anything since then to defend it? Or has he done any of the recommended strong-arming or buttonholing? Will he?
Update: Biden did criticize the Supreme Corp. today on their decision to affirm AZ's voting restrictions. He called the decision "harmful" and "deeply disappointing," while calling on Congress to do something about it. But Congress has already passed the For the People Act in the House and it sits idle in the Senate because of the filibuster. So again Joe, instead of passing the buck what are YOU doing to get this done?
