Continuing this post, the bi-partisan infrastructure bill might contain members from both Parties but they are all members of the neoliberal faction. They are hiding behind a veneer of compromise while their agenda is to keep the money flowing to their corporate masters. It's why they demanded that this bill get passed before even considering the budget bill because they have no intention of passing it since it has all of those evil progressive policies that address climate change, transitioning from fossil fuels, helping workers etc.
The latter is the real bi-partisan bill, meaning it promotes policies and underlying values of we the people who identify with both sides but not necessarily with the Parties. It's the Parties themselves who are beholding to Big Money, not the people, who falsely lay claim to the term in their manipulative propaganda. Perhaps we need to re-frame the budget Bill as the People's Bi-Partisan Budget?
And
progressives definitely need to hold the line and refuse to vote for
the infrastructure bill until the budget bill is passed first in the
Senate. It's the only leverage they have over the neoliberals in the Dem
Party to get their votes, since the latter want that infrastructure
bill to pay back their corporate masters.
