Broken

My long journey into awareness

has led me to see

just how broken I am.

Had I not taken the trip

I might have been blithely ignorant

but it's too late for that.

I start to dwell on my condition

why can't I be whole like others?

then I realize we're all broken.

Accept what is and keep on truckin'

the price of knowing is worth it

sometimes.
