A great lesson for us intellectuals hell bent on defining and preaching the 'higher' truth. It's a point I've reiterated time and again, most recently in this piece. From this recent Chomsky interview:
"The
task of anyone who wants to uphold intellectual and moral values is not
to speak what they regard as truth to anybody — the powerful or the
powerless — but rather to speak with the powerless and to try to learn
the truth."
