Hartmann: Take this job and shove it

He explains why more employers in the red states are having a worse time finding employees. And it's not the extra unemployment help, since those states got rid of it long ago and it didn't move the employment needle one bit. It's the COVID stupid.  Workers are rightfully scared shitless of returning to work in an unsafe environment where vaccine and mask mandates are prohibited. He cites the Washington Post article using Dept. of Labor statistics:

"As the Delta wave grew in August the states with the most new infections also saw hotter job markets than the country as a whole. Employees quit or were hired at rates matching or exceeding the national average in the ten states with the highest rates of new infections that month: Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Tennessee."

So as usual instead of addressing the actual cause of their worker shortage the Repugnacons make the situation worse because they're wed to a failed ideology. Unfortunately that ideology includes utter cruelty to anyone who does not swallow it wholesale, including their own voters who only want a decent, safe job that treats them like human beings. Then again, humanity just ain't part of their sick calculation.
