The same as it's always been: To maintain oligarchy. Only now it's expanded into creating fascism, the consequence of dominant oligarchy. It's just doing exactly what it was designed to do. And why proponents love it, since they can twist it as something noble and ironically democratic. To paraphrase Sinclair Lewis: "When fascism comes to America it will be wrapped in the filibuster."
Join the resistance: Do no harm/take no shit. My idiosyncratic and confluent bricolage of progressive politics, linguistic framing, the collaborative commons, next generation cognitive neuroscience, American pragmatism, de/reconstruction, dynamic systems, embodied realism, psychodynamics, aesthetics.
