Sirota: Dem betrayals fuels fascism

Hartmann interviews Sirota in this video, who makes a compelling case that when Dems make campaign promises to help we the people and then betray them that it has the following results: It erodes our trust in the democratic process and allows fascists to take advantage of our disillusionment. We lose democracy to fascism when we the people are tired and hungry to the point that we believe a strong man who 1) tells us government is the problem, 2) that he is outside that corrupt system and 3) intentionally lies that he will help us with progressive sounding policies. Sound familiar?

And it can all be avoided if only Dems fulfilled their promises but they don't seem to understand that. Or worse, they do and just don't care because they are not really that committed to democracy. We're tired of talk and demand action. Otherwise the Party is the one directly responsible for the next rise of another, and likely smarter and more effective, Twitler.

PS: Also see Sirota's CNN interview accurately pointing out that corporate media refuses to cover the huge oil and Pharma money behind the sabotaging of Build Back Better. It's yet another ingredient in losing trust in our system.
