Krystal discusses some of Bernie's recent comments. He complains that the backdoor strategy with recalcitrant Dem Senators hasn't worked and it's demoralizing. Bernie was part of that strategy, trying to mediate between Biden and the progressives, even getting the progressives to agree to separate the infrastructure bill from Build Back Better. So he has to take some responsibility for that failure and that broken promise.
In his frustration Bernie is being more honest and forthcoming. He is now saying that the status quo finagling he engaged in good faith only exemplifies that the Party is failing because it has abandoned the working class. Krystal thinks his remarks open the door for other progressives to take up the mantle of criticizing the Party. Even possibly to the point of running someone to primary Biden, or Kamala if he bows out.
But talk is cheap Bernie and you elected progressives. We've heard that rhetoric countless times, but when you had the chance to do something about it--like holding firm on vetoing the infrastructure bill until BBB passed--you caved yet again like you always do. I've tired of all talk and little action when it really matters while the status quo just keeps rolling all over you. The same goes for Biden's tough talk on voting rights today. How about STFU and get it done?
