Dave Weiman: The Doctrine of Discovery

This is the first part of his presentation to UU of Santa Fe on Sunday 2/20/22.  From the Pope in 1452 giving King Alfonso of Portugal the power to enslave those American heathen pagans and take their land to the present, this heinous Doctrine has continuously and forever stained the great American experiment. Yet to this day so many who have benefited from this Doctrine via white privilege take the time to understand it and fight against its injustice. The current Repugnacon laws to prevent the teaching of this history also for the most part don't reach us through our comfortable denial.
