Hartmann: What would fascist America look like?

Hartmann notes we've had fascism before in the US when oligarchs took over in the southern Confederacy. We're seeing its rise again for example in Florida and Texas. And now the goal is to take over the entire country in 2024.

What does it look like? Things will still appear to be semi-normal but under a very thin veneer. A strong-man dictator is at its head. If you speak out against him or his Party then at the least you'll lose your job if not worse punishment. The media either becomes a direct propaganda arm of the dictator or becomes owned by the dictator's oligarchs with the same result. Elections will proceed but be determined not by the votes but by the dictator's lackeys. The economy will continue with corrupt oligarchs controlling goods, services and prices like they are now only worse.

And all of it is progressing down that road right now in the Republican Party. Hartmann provides numerous examples. Once they control all of the federal government then the take-over will be complete.

Last time we came so close to a fascist takeover of our government yet democracy held. In this election if the loud and proud fascists take over then the election of '24 will be rigged in the dictator's favor and game over.
