It's not all the horrible things Trump represents, as the Party is all in for that. It's just that saying it all out loud and proud is finally turning off a lot of voters. Given that Trump and his MAGAts won't stop, the Repugs will just go back to pretending they're not about those things and use the more subtle dog whistles to attract the same demographic.They created them and know without their base support they would never win again.
PS: They also know they'll never win again in a free and fair election. Hence their agenda to make voting more difficult, purge voting roles and have legislatures overturn election results. Another story for another day.
