Continuing this post where AOC defended giving rail workers paid sick leave, Biden and the majority of the Senate instead decided to stop their strike and force an agreement without that sick leave via an amendment. Manchin was the only Dem to vote it down. But it was Biden who demanded an agreement without it to avert the strike. Once again he betrayed his promise to workers so that his donors make out.
The Lever makes clear that the cost of the sick leave would amount to just 4 days of railway industry profits. Plus "rail workers were asking for the same amount of paid sick days that Biden in 2020 promised he would grant to all workers in America if he was elected president. Biden has not committed to signing an executive order requiring railroads and other government contractors to provide paid sick days."
