Correction on Microsoft's ownership of OpenAI

According to this article, MS recently invested an additional $10 billion into OpenAI, "with Microsoft getting 75 percent of OpenAI’s profits until it recoups its investment, after which it would have a 49 percent stake in the company." So while MS will not have a controlling interest in the company, one must wonder what influence all that money buys. For example: "With the arrangement, OpenAI runs and powers its technology through Microsoft’s Azure cloud computing platform." What are the biases inherent to this platform given this financial giant's profit motive?

This investment goes with MS's announcement to lay off 10,000 workers. They obviously don't have money problems so it's more a matter of controlling a new technology rather than caring about workers. This tells us a lot about how MS will further funnel searches and information to its preferred narrative sources that reinforce status quo corporate domination at the expense of we the people.
