Hartmann: Call it what it is - Fascism

He describes what RepugliKlans across the nation are doing and it is obvious. They are banning books, stripping Black leaders and subjects from school courses, threatening teachers with prison over what they can teach, demanding menstrual histories of high school girls, attacking immigrants and LGBTQ+, supporting endless weapon sales and paramilitary insurrection, wearing AR-15 pins in Congress, eliminating reproductive rights, engaging in voter suppression and purging, attempting to overrule what votes we do get to cast...

The list goes on and on and grows by the day. And yet corporate media refuses to call it fascism. That's because, as Thom makes clear, oligarchy has always gone hand in hand with fascism. As usual he provides our country's accurate history of this sick, symbiotic relationship. Said media knows to call it what it is would scare us into action so they ignore all of the above to protect their privilege and keep us pacified.

Thom is right that we the people have to acknowledge the obvious reality and call it what it is, loud and clear and often. We must motive all of us to realize the very real danger we are in of losing our what little democracy we have left. Granted at this point the growing fascism doesn't yet directly affect the more privileged among the mostly white, upper middle class. The propaganda has lulled them into a false sense of security that numbs them to the plight of those so effected. They need to wake up and quickly to also get active in this fight. Calling out fascism strongly and repeatedly is required here and now.

Tag, you're it. Do your duty.
