Bad news for the federal election trial. Their deciding to hear it delays it even further to the point that it might not happen at all before the election.
The Supremes will hear oral arguments the week of April 22. And even though DOJ requested an expedited schedule, there is no telling when they will decide the issue. Their ruling might not even come before July, which makes the election trial date remote. And the longer that takes the more obvious it becomes that they are intentionally trying to delay it with that outcome.
