COVID is over, right?

This is the most common attitude I see now. Yet long COVID is a very real and tragic phenomenon per the CDC affecting millions who are being ignored in the attempt to just move on with our lives while leaving the wounded behind. This even though people are still getting and blithely transmitting COVID which will of course create even more people with long COVID. 

Granted the government encourages this attitude and behavior with greatly reduced recommendations for those who get it because we have to maintain an economy for purely political purposes. So the vicious cycle goes on and the wounded are brushed under the rug so we in our comfortable privilege don't have to see them suffer and die.
