Why are some Democrats aiding Trumpler?

Solnit asks why the Democratic pundit class wants Biden out? She notes that the NY Times and WaPo have run innumerable stories about him instead of focusing on the real threat to our democracy. They aren't just reporting the news but shaping it. 

She agrees with Abramson that it is mostly the pundit class doing it because they are "unable to understand their own emotional life, biases and motives than people who are utterly convinced of their own ironclad rationality and objectivity." Exactly the elite snobbery that Repugs have long and correctly diagnosed as a bane to the Republic. They are so convinced that they are right when they are obviously wrong that they are willing to lose democracy over it while being ironically convinced they are saving it.

Just like they did in 2016 with their ill-fated destruction of Clinton. Only this time, given the Extreme Corp has imbued the Presidency with dictator powers, the consequences are too great. Once again we the people have to not only fight against fascism but the Democratic pundit class so full of themselves that they ignorantly aid Trumpler's cause. Turns out they ain't so smart after all.
