This history confirms that even though the Klan did not originate the phrase, in the 1920s they indeed appropriated it as their slogan. In the 1930s it was also adopted by self-styled American fascist groups. Today Trump and MAGA bring it back within the same context and meaning. No wonder they want to ban such history, for it tells us exactly who they are.
