Hartmann: Schumer's legacy

In his daily rant he said that Schumer "rolled over for TrumPutin" and "let fascism rise without a fight." Since caving on the Repug funding bill TrumPutin took it as bi-partisan support and has gone wild with several more destructive Executive Orders. This at a time when 65% of Democrats want their representatives to fight like hell against fascism, even shutting down the government if necessary. Instead we now have the Dem Party with a 27% approval rate.

Hartmann continued that Schumer and his colleagues could have at least threatened a shutdown and "demanded Republicans fund election security (Trump just shut down that agency), reinstate ethics laws, get big money (Elon Musk, et al) out of politics, expose disinformation in media and social media (Trump shut that agency down, too), and restore accountability for the traitors who killed three police officers and smeared literal shit all over the offices of Democrats in the US Capitol on January 6th. Even if he got none of it, the demands and negotiations would have gotten all of them into the media." Instead he gave up without a fight.

The group Indivisible is calling for Schumer to resign as Senate leader and Hartmann agrees. We need leadership that will put up a fight at every opportunity. The stakes are literally the end of democracy under fascism and this is no time to play nice. This latest surrender is evidence enough that we're not going to get it with Schumer.
