Hartmann: Party and Inter-Party differences

In this post he describes what I've previously referred to as Bateman and Batman. The TrumPets are adept at selling lies with targeted propaganda while the Dem Party is stuck in upscale consultancy firms based on polls and focus groups. The former makes emotional appeals to prejudice and hate while the latter are emotion-free appealing to only a sterile rationality. The latter also scrubs out any of the progressive emotional appeals to humane values and empathy like Bernie and AOC, instead moving to the right chasing a mythical middle. 

"There’s a reason Bernie Sanders can draw 34,000 people to a rally: He tells the truth and offers bold solutions. He’s willing to push hard for what he believes is right regardless of polls, focus groups, or overpaid Democratic consultants."

While the Dems are right about policy they are terrible at selling it. By now they should know this. If they don't they are either in denial or just don't care about winning, preferring to maintain the status quo of shooting themselves, and us, in the foot to feed off of their corporate donors. It's left to us to run progressive candidates to primary and defeat this sick machine.
