The First Oh Well

The first oh well, the cynics did say

Was to certain white Christians in chains as they pray

In chains as they pray, just like little sheep

On a sold bill of goods that was not so deep

Oh well, oh well, oh well, oh well

Worn is the ring of the one true bell

They looked up and saw a vision

From this came to their decision

To the world they imposed their divine right

And force fed it every day and night

Oh well, oh well, oh well, oh well

Worn is the ring of the one true bell

And for those who don’t agree, deportation for their kids

It was just punishment for those thoughts they must rid

By the light of that star that guided them here

Something tells me they got a very bum steer

Oh well, oh well, oh well, oh well

Worn is the ring of the one true bell
