The most and least educated US States

The framers of our Constitution realized that for democracy to work a good public education system was foundational. We can see the correlation from this list that the most educated States typically vote Democratic while the least educated usually vote Republican (with exceptions).

It seems the latter intentionally sabotage education and rely on propaganda and lies to manipulate voters. And there is a correlation between the least educated being more susceptible to such manipulation. Not surprisingly, there is also a correlation between these States leaning toward authoritarianism while the most educated support democracy. 

The framers were right that a good education is key to our democracy.

The most educated States: MA, VT, MD, CT, CO, NJ, VA, NH, MN, WA, UT, ME, RI, DE, IL.

The least educated States:  WV, MS, LA, AR, NV, OK, KY, AL, NM, TX, IN, TN, SC, ID, AK.
