Continuing the last post, Maher's comments on it echo the same sentiment. While it's supposed to be the savior of mankind because it bypasses the evil banking system, it's based on the same divorced abstraction from real value as the financial system that caused the Big Crash.
To save mankind we need to find means of exchange based on real, embodied value, not complex, disembodied abstractions. Not head in the clouds: Eyes on the road, hands on the wheel, wheels on the ground.
