After a violent attack on our Capitol that put their own and their colleagues’ lives in danger, Mitch McConnell and Senate Republicans would rather cover for Donald Trump than get real answers for the American people.Last week, a bipartisan House majority voted to form a 9/11-style commission to investigate the January 6th insurrection. This group would have full subpoena power so it could study the insurrection inside and out — and make sure a horrific attack like this one can’t happen again.Despite the immense support for this investigation from constituents and legislators alike, McConnell has already made it clear that he'd rather sweep this insurrection under the rug. And if his Senate colleagues let him, he'll be able to abuse the filibuster to kill this push for an independent commission.That’s outrageous. The American people deserve answers, and the insurrectionists’ deadly effort to overthrow our democracy and silence millions of voters cannot go ignored.Please join me in demanding that the Senate push past Mitch McConnell’s blockade and vote in favor of this all-important commission.
