It states that while those fully vaccinated can go without masks and social distancing, those not vaccinated must continue to wear masks and social distance in public with limited exceptions. The unvaccinated who partner dance in public without a mask and social distancing is NOT one of those exceptions. Therefore it continues to be a violation of a public health order and should be reported here: covid.enforcement@state.nm.us. If you fail in this civic responsibility you are contributing to the spread of this dangerous disease. No amount of denial can change that fact.
So how can you know for sure who is and is not vaccinated in a social dance situation? The dance venue must be responsible for at the very least requiring proof of vaccination to allow only those so vaccinated to go without masks. It is still questionable to allow the unvaccinated to partner dance even with a mask, since it violates the social distancing requirement. Therefore to be sure a venue is practicing safe public health guidelines it must require proof of vaccination and not allow anyone without it to dance in that venue. This is being done is some dance venues and communities around the country. Anything less is not only irresponsible but endangering the public health.
