Hartmann: The US is a democratic republic

That translates into a representative democracy, where our leaders are chosen by we the people. But the Repugnacons' mantra is that "we are a republic, not a democracy." Rand Paul said it outright: "The idea of democracy and majority rule really is what goes against our history and what the country stands for." 

What a republic means to them is fascism, where the leaders choose themselves, not we the people, since they know better than us peons who must know our place and eat shit. If we want to retain any semblance of the democratic republic upon which this country was founded, we need to be patriots and fight like hell for it because the fascists are determined to undermine and replace it. #Patriots4Democracy.
