The necessity of weaponized narrative

Narrative framing can be used by anyone, whatever the worldview. Those techniques are on how to 'weaponize' narrative in a war of worldviews. Right now in the US we have a strong fascist contingent (aka the Repugnacon Party) using them effectively.

 

Progressives however seem to think they can just rationally provide the facts and that's all that is necessary, which might work for the intelligentsia and educated but not for the rest of us. Instead they need to recognize that we are in that war and learn how to fight it using the same techniques outlined. The difference is that progressives can use truth instead of lies to promote their worldview.

 

Further, given this is rhetorical war and the consequences are a fascist takeover, progressives need to get over that these tactics are 'dirty' or not conducive to reasoned and respectful debate. True as that may be, fascists do not respond to Robert's Rules of orderly debate. Nor do most working class folks of whatever political persuasion. We do what we must to win this war of words to preserve democracy so that reasoned and respectful debate can still operate for those willing to participate in it.
