Kemp: Leave Willis alone

Per this report Kemp said: "As long as I’m governor, we are going to follow the law and the Constitution regardless of who it helps politically. Up to this point, I have not seen any evidence that DA Willis' actions or lack thereof warrant action by the prosecuting attorney oversight commission. But that will ultimately be a decision the commission will make."

And yet Kemp signed the law creating that commission and the decision is ultimately up to them. A Georgia State Senator has already promised to file a complaint on Oct. 1 with the commission to fire her. Since Kemp apparently has no authority to contest their decision his words are empty bluster.

As reported earlier, the Public Rights Project has filed suit to stop the law and commission. As yet the Superior Court has not ruled on it.
