Not only on the cost but on many provisions necessary to fulfill his campaign promises and help we the people, the economy and the environment. And the question always remains as to why he keeps negotiating against himself, when Manikin, Dimena and the other corporate Dems aren't going to give in and accept his meaningless attempts at compromise anyway.
This is exactly why Dems lose elections: They talk a good game but never live up to the talk. And we progressives are sick and tired of it. If they'd stay strong like the progressives and make demands for nonnegotiable provisions we'd see they are really on our side. Even if those demands fail we at least know they actually believe in them and are willing to fight, qualities that deserve and get our votes. But when they don't we know they just use empty promises to string us along like Lucy moving the football yet again.
Progressives have held fast so far for what's necessary in this Bill. They must remain steadfast and be prepared to vote down this shredded excuse that remains. But will they? Jayapal seems to be now making excuses for this atrocity. Will they too cave and try to spin their way out of it? I certainly hope not. We must again pressure them strongly and constantly to demand that they don't quit. If they do then all hope is lost for us and our democracy.
